Luke 21:27
27At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
My granddaughter Dylan and I enjoy looking at the clouds and finding shapes of animals and objects. The other day I saw a sheep lying on a cloud taking a nap, (would have a made a good mattress commercial). The sky blue background painted a perfect backdrop for the cotton candy clouds.
As I watched the clouds, I was reminded of the words of Luke when he tells of the day when Jesus will return to earth. He goes on in Luke 21: 34 to remind us to “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.” Jesus wants to meet us in his glory and find us prepared for heaven. Instead of worrying and fretting about life on earth, take time to look at the clouds and imagine the glory of heaven.
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. —Romans 15:4
