For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. —Romans 15:4

The new year

1 Peter 1:3-4
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you...(NIV)

As I wrap up Christmas and put it away for another year, I look forward to a new start for the new year. Each year a feeling of refreshment comes as I put away my Christmas decorations and clean up my home. I'm not one to make resolutions, but I do generally set goals that I'd like to accomplish or think of projects I'd like to complete, like starting a blog!

Just as we are given a new year, Christ gives us new life in him. I like the word hope and what it means to me as a follower of Jesus. We have the "living hope" of heaven as we serve and live on this earth. Each day we start new. This new year look toward Jesus to renew your mind, spirit and daily walk.

Enjoy a blessed week!
